I'm not into the whole Bling jewelry scene or jewelry for fashion's sake. For me, it's all about the stones. When I was as young as 6 years old, I remember being fascinated by rocks and what could be potentially inside of them. In Massachusetts, I found a dull, dark greenish black quartz from a field in back of my house. It held a strange mystery inside. A strange rock from the Cape Code shore had little pockets of quartz crystals amidst a purplish sedimentary structure. I always wondered what was inside of it too, but would never devalue its integrity by cracking it open. I still have that rock...it sits on the coffee table on which I assemble my jewelry. One time in first or second grade, a girl brought a geode to school. It amazed me that this object that looked like it was filled with snow crystals did not melt. I wanted one of those so badly, and even though I got many small greyish and brownish geodes at rock shops in Colorado, I still have not found a white geode like hers.
For me, wearing jewelry is like having my good friends with me. It's not about being fashionable, or showing off. It's not about birthstones (although I do include birthstone information when I can about my jewelry for those who it does matter to), as I personally feel if you like a stone but it's not your birthstone...you should wear it anyway.
Because I can't wear my rock collection, I sample it with rings. I'm a big ring collector. Not expensive precious little rings, but inexpensive big rings. A big chunk of jasper or quartz (especially the quartz with mysterious stuff inside!) means more than something "perfect."

Lately I've found a source for ornate pendants with large solitary stones. These pendants have an ornate motif style that could be considered Victorian? Gothic? Balinese? Whatever their style, they are quite lovely and make quite an impression. I've created a few sets with them already, and they've been a quite popular. The ones I have in stock now are shown here:

From left to right:
Fancy Jasper, Black Onyx, Fluorite, Red Brecciated Jasper, Jasper, Mookaite, Tourmalinated Quartz, Rose Quartz, Green Aventurine, Rhodonite and Unakite. You can find them under their associated categories using the nav bar on the left.
Not shown above, but planned for the future: Fancy Balinese pendant necklaces in Calcite, Howlite, Labradorite, Tiger Eye, Carnelian, Rose Quartz, Lemon Chrysoprase, Tourmalinated Quartz, Onyx, Botswana Agate, Chalcedony, Kambaba Jasper, Mahagony Obsidian, Pietersite, Goldstone, Flourite and Picture Jasper.
